As a testament to all ICS guns, the ICS M4 S-System maintains the highest level of quality control but with a competitive price tag. As part of ICS' "Sport Lines" series this AEG utilizes high precision casting and molding processes to create its strengthened and rugged polymer bodies that reduces its overall weight and cost. But not keen on sacrificing quality, this Sport Lines series model still features metal parts including a reinforced aluminum outer barrel, metal front post sight and a folding rear iron sight, metal sling points, and a metal six-position buffer tube. Featuring the S-System configuration of the M4, the hand guard has been replaced with a Rail Accessory System (RAS) that features rails along the entire top length of the gun, as well as both left and right positions of the hand guard, and another rail segment on the bottom allowing them to accept rail accessories like vertical fore grips, flashlights, lasers, red dot sights, and scopes. At the rear is a collapsible LE (Law Enforcement) style stock with a metal spring loop.

Perhaps the most unique feature of the ICS M4 is the revolutionary split gearbox design. When field stripping the gun by punching out the rear body pin and pivoting the gun's upper receiver open, you will find access to the airsoft gun's gears directly. As most gearboxes are a one-piece shell design that encapsulates the gear mechanism, split gearboxes are a two-piece design that fit together. It makes upgrading and maintenance a snap as you can easily inspect and swap out parts thanks to split design. Another added feature is the ability to release the gun's spring tension by the push of the forward assist button. A particularly useful feature when putting your gun away for storage, it decompresses the spring when not in use, maintaining its strength and health longer.

Note this gun does not come with a battery and charger, however investing in a stronger 8.4V or 9.6V battery and a smart charger is always a recommendation - oppose to using lesser batteries and chargers that other airsoft guns often come with. This gun was designed for the player who wants to take a serious step into airsoft without the unnecessary high cost of admission.
