The H&K MP7 is a submachine gun designed by Heckler and Koch to fill the Personal Defense Weapon role or PDW. Entering production in 2001, the MP7 fires the intermediate 4.6x30mm round that best resembles a scaled down rifle cartridge. Smaller pistol caliber guns have become ineffective with the proliferation of high quality body armor. Second-line troops like vehicle crews and other support units utilize the MP7s small size and heavy knock down power instead of larger assault rifles. The MP7 has also found its way into the hands of selective SWAT teams and other government response teams around the world.

The Umarex H&K MP7 by KWA is a gas operated sub machine gun based on the H&K PDW design. Similar to its real counterpart, the external shell is constructed out of a fiber reinforced polymer body that features an integrated folding grip. A long picatinny style top and side rails allows for the addition of optics and accessories allowing operators to expand the MP7 platform for different situations. The sliding stock can extend to provide extra stability while firing. KWA also offers a low powered bolt which can be swapped to quickly lower velocity for safe indoor play, making the Umarex MP7 by KWA the one of the most versatile weapons available.
